Required Supplies
Hardware
- This course is written for the use of a Robo 3D printer. See the Announcements page for information on how to order a Robo printer for this course with a SCAD student discount.
- Additional tools for finishing 3D models include:
- safety glasses
- work gloves
- X-ACTO knife with extra blades
- needle-nose pliers
- sandpaper
- kitchen cutting board.
- You will need a digital camera or smartphone to photograph your finished models. An inexpensive light box is also recommended for documenting your work.
Software
- You will need a copy of Rhinoceros 3D (also known as Rhino or Rhino 3D) for this course. Rhino runs on Microsoft Windows and OS. See the Announcements page for ordering information with a SCAD student discount.
- You will also need a copy of Adobe Creative Suite. Adobe Creative Suite can be downloaded with a student license through MySCAD.
Supplies
If you’re buying a Robo new, it comes with one roll of PLA (Polylactic Acid). An additional roll of PLA in a different color is suggested. Be sure to order any supplies you need well in advance of your project due dates.
